I made it! 50 is here

Well folks I have finally arrived at 50!

I cant even believe Im here. I remember being 10 or 11 and my grandmother teaching me to crochet and I thought will I ever be that old to know how to crochet so many differant things as my grandmother did. And now Im a grandmother of a 12 year old! Boy how time flies when Im crocheting.

I put some pics of my awesome flowers Terry bought me for my birthday! Are they not just the prettiest flowers. They are white with tinged pink! My daughter went out and bought me a chocolate cake and they both got me cards. On my computer this morning was a really cute card from CrochetwithDee I cant believe she took the time out to send me a card too! Thanks Dee!

Well Im off to the mall today Terry is buying me the perfume Lovely from Sarah Jessica Parker. I really want a bottle of her perfume. And my son Shawn gave me 50.00 for my Christmas to go to Michaels for yarn. I think Im going to make me an afghan using me new Q hook I bought off of Ebay.

Well you all have a blessed day and Ill be back to see you next year :) haahaa

Heresssss Betty

Looky here! My dear hubby bought me a glass head so I can put my hats on her:) I decided it would be a her so I will call the glass head Betty:) Next time you see her she will be dressed in an awesome hat:) I promise!  I was so suprised to get her. Now I just need to get busy making hats. Im in the process of making the baby sweater I already made but used the wrong yarn and hook size so it came out way to big. So I started making it in the correct size hook and the fine baby yarn:) As soon as its done Ill take a pic so you can see it.

Well tomorrow is my 50th birthday. Everyone tells me Ill feel very old. They just dont know I already feel old! Ive been fighting with this head cold for a few weeks now and Im getting pretty tired of it.

My girlfriend Karen and I have decided to join Curves. Its a workout place to do excersises for 30 minutes a day. She feels if she joins with me she wont skip any:) Im up for it. I just need to get drugs from my nicest doctor so I wont hurt so much! If you know what I mean. I let you know how Im doing once I start. Im not going to start till mid Janurary. I hope then everyone who started will quit by then:) lol Oh well we will see!

Ill see you tomorrow when I 50:)

2005 Christmas Day

Heres some pics of the 2005 Christmas day! As you can see we had a pretty good day all in all. The kids loved the dolls I crocheted for them. Riley really enjoyed playing with the Hero doll I made. And everyone I gave a beddoll to loved them. And I did get requests for dolls for others.

I do pray you all had a wonderful day aswell. Im staying home for the big New Years Eve so hubby wont have to worry about me. I figured that he has enough to worry about without me adding to his worries.

My 50th Birthday is on Friday Dec.30th. Terry was going to take me to dinner on the 26th because thats his birthday too:) And we both came down with the dreaded head cold. So we plan on going out next week:) We plan on going to Ruth Chris 's steak house:) I love a good steak!

Well have a great day and Ill be back real soon

  and a blessed 2006!

Baby afghan completed

ok here it is:)

I made this really neat afghan for my nieces new baby girl due on Valentines day:) When I went and bought the yarn I decided to use Simply Soft because Angie uses it alot in her afghans. And I just love the way it feels and drapes. I bought one skein of each color. So when I started this afghan I had no idea if I would need more than what I bought:) But you wont believe it I had just the right amount. The green and blue where my hardest to finish because I thought I would not have enough. But low and behold I had a very small amount left over from both colors! Boy was I happy. It turned out so pretty. Now I need to go and get some fingering yarn to do another sweater:) Im going to make a hat and booties to go with it. Well have a great Christmas and enjoy the new year!

Day to day workings

Hello folks!

Am I glad to be back on my computer. I went off of DSL to cable and boy is my computer fast now:) I can whip around here like a champ. Ive been busy as you can see. I wanted to make my niece Sheree a baby sweater for her new baby girl due on Feburary 14th of next year:) haha of course next year!

Well here are some pics of it. It called for a size D hook and I used a size G hook:) And I have no idea what kinda yarn it calls for because I have never heard of the yarn in my life. Its from an older pattern book I have. Well it took me about 3 days to make this little sweater. I probably fits a nice size 9 month to 12 month old child. I'm going to give it to a very little girl I know...her name is Ziher. I do hope she will like it:)

Im going to make this in a size 6 months I hope :) Ill keep you updated. Im in the process of making my nieces baby an afghan. Next time Ill take pics a publish them up here so you can see it too! Its turning out awesome. I did have a yarn scare tho but thats for next time:)

I was looking at the picture I sent you earlier of the leaf in Massachusettes. And I was thinking about the very first picture I took with my digital camera and I thought you might like to see it too. So here it is. I found this cactus blooming in Sedona, Arizona. Hubby and I took a little trip there last year. As you can see the first pic is of the blooming cactus. The next picture is of the view from a mountain close by. We took a drive and went up the mountain and it had a turn out so people could stop and take pictures:) What a view! It was breathtaking. The third picture was takin at the cafe that was located next to the little river than ran past the inn we stayed at. We had breakfast next to where the ducks where swimming by. It was so peaceful. If you ever get a chance to visit Sedona please take advantage of everything they offer. Hubby and I want to go back next year for a few days.

Well I hope to see you again later this week. Have a very blessed day!

A crocheted Candle

I just wanted to show you my little gift to my Christmas Sister this year at WWW.HooksnGrannies.com . I wanted something christmasy that was alittle differant. I ran across this pattern and thought how cute:) If you want the pattern you can locate it at http://members.optusnet.com.au/we2/christmascandle.html. It was really easy to make too. I started it in the early morning and finished some time that afternoon. It turned out real cute as you can see. I did take it with me to the meeting of the LVCrocheters http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lvcrochet/ that meet on Tuesday nights once a month.

If you ever here in Vegas and you get a crochet itch come call us and we would love to meet you. One of the ladies is a teacher at the local community college. She is very talented.

Well I should get back to my gingerbread men. I have lost count on making them. They are so much fun too! I have been asked to make an afghan for a firend of my daughters so maybe I might do that:) Well have a happy crochet filled day!

Christmas Hat

Folks,

How do you like my hat? I went to our First Ladies Christmas Tea Party at my church yesterday. They asked all the ladies if they could wear a hat. I had no idea of where I would find a hat in Las Vegas. People really dont wear hats here. I went to my local Catherines Store to get a new outfit to wear to this party and believe it or not :) They had a hat there with purple pearls and a brown ribbon bow. And it was on sale for only 16.00! I snatched it right up.

I couldnt at first think of what to do with the purple beads because they were glued to the hat. Soooo I crocheted a ribbon to go around the beads. And I made a big poinsettia to put on the side of the hat. I was really tickled to be able to crochet something to go on the hat. Because if you dont know by now Im a crazed crocheter! I loved to show it off anyway I can.

Well have a great night and Ill be later in the week with something new to chat about!

2006 Crochet Calandar

Look what I found today at Costcos:) a neat 2006 calandar with a crochet pattern a day in it. I couldnt believe my eyes when I saw it. They even had one on knitting but Im such an avid crocheter that I just had to have it. It has 365 patterns and it cost me 8.00. Now I wonder if I could try and make something once a day:) What do you think?

You know earlier this week I was telling you about me not having anything to crochet and I thought maybe I could start my spring afghan. But I totally forgot I have to make my niece an afghan for her new baby. She doesnt seem to know what the baby's sex is so I think Ill make a generic baby afghan. A nice yellow, blue and pink oh yea I did get some baby green to go with it:) I got Caron Simply Soft to make it with. I think Ill start that right away. If I can stop making those cute gingerbread men ornaments:)

Well have a great night and Ill be back tomorrow

New dining room table

Hi there!

I just received this new table from my hubby for Thanksgiving:) Its wrought iron with a marble top. I just love it. I especially love the chairs because they are so sturdy. Ive always had wooden chairs and they become wobbly after a while. I just thought you might like to see my new table:) As you can see my daughter went out and bought me new placemats for the holidays. I really dont like to use them it takes away from the nice marble. But she bought them and so I will use them.

I still have the old oak table I just dont know what to do with it. Its over 30 years old and its in decent shape a few scratches here and there but really nice shape. I tried selling it through Vegas Traders but I had no takers. Im thinking of giving it to the local woman's shelter. I know they maybe able to use it. Ill give them call first thing next week.

Well Im back making more gingerbread men. I thought of a few more people to give them too! haha I just love making them.

Free FunFur Yarn

Well folks,

Here it is at last! My free yarn . It came in a brown color which is great because you can do so much with brown. Some of the ladies that I have heard from that received their yarn says it was teal colored. But I really like my brown. It even shines like copper. I haven't decided on what to do with yet but Ill come up with an idea or two:)

Ive finished making my gingerbreadmen for this year. I keep wanting to just make them up because they are so easy and I feel like I accomplished something every time I get one done! funny huh?

Now I need to decide if I should make my spring afghan I want to make with tons of flowers on it. What do you all think? Or maybe I should take a break off of crocheting and get back to my knitting:) I dont know I just love crocheting!
