Ok, the last item from my trip to New England

Folks,

I just wanted you to see my Maine lobster I brought home from York, Maine:) Isnt he cute! I did have 2 lobsters while I was in Maine. What a mess, I never had one I had to clean myself. I was absolutely a mess. Terry thought it was hysterical.

So when I went to an outdoors store with Terry in York, Maine we found this lobster and it called out to me to bring home:) NOT as messy!

And the big fish you see next to lobster is another stuffed animal I found at the outdoor store here in Vegas. Terry thought I was nuts because I just had to have it. If you come to my house they are both sitting on my wet bar:) Since I dont drink they fit beautifully.

New England yarn stores

People,

I wanted to take the time here and introduce you all to the stores I visited in New England. I first went to Webs(http://www.yarn.com/) in NorthHampton, Mass. It was fantastic. Dee from www.CrochetwithDee told me about the store. It was just awesome, it had the most beautiful yarn in the back room. It was huge. If you ever want to see one of the biggest yarn stores in Mass you should visit. You cant walk away from there without buying yarn. I bought the most beautiful ribbon yarn and some awesome sock yarn (for those socks for my mom). And I found a really cool bamboo crochet hook. I also bought the prettiest tote. As you can see it in the pic.

Then we went to Ogunquit,Maine and Micheal at the Pine Hill Inn (http://www.pinehillinn.com/home/default.asp) told me about the www.YarnSellar.com store. Terry let me go visit and they had some really nice yarns too. Mostly knitting but I did purchase a pattern for slippers and the yarn to make them. I also picked up a really neat little book, you put all your projects in.

When I went to see Dee from www.CrochetwithDee.com for my Overlay Crochet class. I met her at the nicest yarn store called A Stitch in Time(http://www.astitchintimept.com/). The ladies there were just as friendly as can be. I wished we had a store like that here in Vegas. As you can see in the pic I bought a couple of great itmes from them. I bought a cushion pad for my overlay crochet to be on(when I finish it) and some yarn. I just love the color I have no idea what Im going to do with it :)But Ill have fun trying to figure it out. Thanks Dee for a great time there. Say Hi to Ruth for me!

Pine Hill Inn

Here is pics of

The Pine Hill Inn | Rest, Relax and Indulge in Ogunquit, Maine

that we stayed at while we were in Maine.  When I booked the room I thought it was a Victorian room. But to my delight they changed the decor to contempory. It was very nice.

Michael and Jim who own the inn was very gracious. Michael made the most awesome breakfasts I have ever had in a B&B. It was really a pleasant stay.

The one thing that I did not realize when I booked the room was that the room was on the top floor. You can not believe how many steps I had to climb:) I had to climb stairs just to get into the Inn then I had to climb stairs to the room. Boy was I exausted:)

This was the Inn that have no TVs in the rooms or even in the parlor. Terry and I talked alot:) We had a great time just talking about our day! You will have to try it some time. But Im never going to be afraid of not missing the old TV.

Heres pics of York, Maine

I wanted you to see more pics that we took on our trip. We went to York, Maine they were having a festival and we wanted to see what all the excitement was about:)

We had a great time there. They were cooking fresh onion rings...dipping and cooking... they smelt great! We didnt get any because Terry thought my gall bladder might act up. But boy did I want some!

I bought some yarn from a lady that shore the sheep and spun the yarn herself. I ll take a pic later and show you all what I bought from New England.

I hope you enjoy the pics theres more to come.

Meeting CrochetwithDee

Hi all,

Well here are the pics where I met Dee from www.CrochetwithDee.com She was a great teacher. She taught me the concept of Overlay Crochet. When I get better at it Ill show you more pics of it:)

We got up really early on Thursday Oct.13 and we drove from Ogunquit, Maine for 4 1/2  hours to Bethel, Connecticut. It rained on us all the way there. But I got to see lots of country along the way.

I met Ruth one of Dees students and friend. She was great fun. Boy can she crochet! She used regular yarn where I used thread to make the Overlay Crochet.

Heres Pics of the Old Sturbridge Village

Heres some pics of the trip we took to the old Sturbridge Village Museum. It was great. We did have a good time. It was cold and alittle windy but they had fires going in all the differant buildings. Its one of the largest living museums in Massachusettes.

Terry wanted me to take a wheel chair so we did. But the ground was so wet that  the wheels in the chair kept digging into the dirt that it would not move:) It was funny seeing Terry trying to push me in the chair. I gave up and walked. I know now I really need to loose some weight!

My trip to Sturbridge, Mass

Well Folks,

Im backkkkk! We had a wonderful time. It did rain every day we were there! But I loved it anyways. When we got to the inn we found out they were having a Scarecrow contest. So I took some pics for you all to see. I hope you can see some of the scarecrows. I didnt take pics of them all. Just a few I found interesting.

We arrived at the inn at 11 am and our room was nowhere near ready. We could not get into the room till 3 pm. Terry did not get any sleep on the plane at all. Some guy sitting next to him snored very loud. I of course had taken a sleep aid so I was fast asleep!

I felt so bad for Terry. He was so tired he had not had any sleep for almost 24 hours. We talked the lady into letting us get in the room at 2pm. He went right to sleep so I dosed off and on too. I did watch the tv we did get in our room. The rooms in the inn was very small. And the inn was a two story inn so there was tons of stairs for me to climb! I really hurt after all those stairs.

We had lunch before we went up to the room. They had the best little bakery in the inn. But we had lunch of creamy clam chowder( but I like the way we make it here in Las Vegas better, we make it thicker!) Then we drove around town till we got into our room.

Ill post more pics later of the rest of the trip. Hope you can drop by and see more! So come back.

My beaded bracelets

I thought I would share some pictures of my beaded bracelets. I made these over the past few years. I became very depressed a few years back and I could not do anything. I could not even crochet :( I was a very sad person. But my sister Carri invited me to a beading class. I made my first bracelet and I was hooked after that. I beaded for a whole year before I could crochet again. Now Ive stopped beading and all I can do is crochet.

I think I live and breath right now is Crochet. I love making things for the troops and for the little babies. I want to make all kinds of crochet items. Dee at www.CrochetwithDee.com has totally inspired me. I cant wait to meet her. Im taking a class from her on Thursday and Im so going to enjoy myself. She sounds absolutely wonderful. Ill be back in a week. I will take lots of pics and Ill give you a tour of my trip. Have a blessed week.

You are dishcloth cotton.
You are a very hard worker, most at home when you're at home. You are thrifty and seemingly born to clean. You are considered to be a Plain Jane, but you are too practical to notice.
What kind of yarn are you ? brought to you by  http://quizilla.com

I went to this site for the quizz. Its really cute I thought you might like to try it out as well. Have fun!
